Quantization
In computer graphics, quantization means a process that reduces the number of colors used in an image for its compression. Since GIF format, in particular, only supports up to 256 colors, quantization of a GIF file is indispensable to display the image clearly with realistic colors.
Honeycam provides two types of quantization algorithms, and each of them has the following features:
LIQ
- Low processing speed, but high image quality
NEU
- About 2 times faster processing speed than LIQ (slower than LIQ depending on conditions)
- Lower image quality than LIQ (depending on conditions)
