When saved as a GIF, the playback speed and playback time are not the same as the original.
When capturing video or loading a video file and saving it as a GIF, the resulting saved GIF file may have a different playback time and speed than the original.
With GIFs, the time precision of each frame is 10 milliseconds (0.01 second). Due to the lack of time precision, when captured video or animation is saved as a GIF, there will be a difference between the original video and the playback speed.
For example, in the case of a 30 FPS video, the duration of each frame is 0.033 or 0.034 seconds, but when saved as a GIF, it becomes 0.03 or 0.04 seconds, which can only cause a difference in playback speed from the original video.
Until v4.22, Honeycam only saved to two decimal places when saving GIFs, resulting in a more severe speed difference from the original video, but starting with the v4.23 version, time correction has been applied to minimize the playback speed difference from the original video.
Due to file format limitations, however, GIFs may not be saved with exactly the same playback speed as the original video. Therefore, if you need exactly the same playback time and speed, we recommend using the WebP format.
